Roman Bridge

The Romans built a long bridge over the Miño River on Antonino's Road XIX that led from Lucus Augusti to Bracara Augusta(nowadays, Braga in Portugal).
In the late Middle Ages Lugo's Roman Bridge was largely restored. In modern times several repairs were again necessary and, eventually, in 1893 it was widened and altered in structure with the suppression of some elements. However, the main features of the so-called old or Roman bridge still bear the original imprint.

The Bridge Road goes down from Miñá Wall Gate to this bridge, as part of the Primitive Way to Santiago. From here, visitors can also trek along the path known as "Las riberas altas, Miño arriba" (Upper Banks of the Miño).
