Present-day Staircases:

The Roman Wall has a walk on top that is open to anyone free of chage. It is a luxury people from Lugo and visitor can enjoy walking round the Wall for more than two kilometres, rising up to 12 metres high above ground level.

This pedestrian walk can be reached at six different locations through stone staircases; there is also a ramp, the only point where the handicapped can access the monument. All of these have been built in modern times, since the XVII century, namely:

- Ramp at Santiago Gate  Streets
- Staircase at Campo Castelo  Streets
- Staircase at Praza do Cantio (next to Porta de San Pedro)  Streets
- Staircase at Porta da Estación  Streets
- Staircase at Porta Falsa  Streets
- Staircase at Porta Nova  Streets
- Staircase at Porta Miñá  Streets

Rampla de la Puerta de Santiago
Before these staircases were built, there were old ones that can still be seen covered by iron bars, below the pedestrian walk. Research is being conducted in order to confirm the existence of one set of stairs in each tower.
